So your community is hosting a neighborhood yard sale, great! You can get out and meet your local sphere! Take it a step farther and if the neighborhood has a central area, recommend that they host it there and have folks that bring their stuff there. THEN reserve a spot for yourself and have a table all set up to meet and greet your neighbors AND all the tag sale folks that are heading into the neighborhood.. uh yes these may be potential buyers once they see it from the inside!
So there you are, your signs at your table, neighborhood maps with your name and contact info on it and cards at the ready, after all it is a sale and you ARE selling homes!
Take it a step farther as lots of folks are cruising around your neighborhood and have an open house or two! (or in my case have a few fellow Realtors host the houses while I met and greeted at our central yard sale location.
Take it a step even further... have some activity that is interactive to bring the folks over or even a kid's activity that brings the family over to speak with you! ... And it worked! The kids played a game while my son coordinated the activity and I spoke with the parents and passers by! It was terrific!
It was not only a blast, but a neighbor asked me to list their home! So this was a home run all along! Happy Marketing!
