Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath laying ceremonies each December at veterans' cemeteries across the nation. This year at our local South Florida National Cemetery ceremony takes place at 11:30am on 12/12. The public and the relatives of those buried and interred are invited to come out and lay wreaths at the graves of our national heros.
A very special day is the day before when the wreaths arrive from Maine by way of motorcycle escort. The wreaths are transported by Walmart to the cemeteries. Then volunteers unbox thousands of wreaths and stack them so they are ready for the next day's ceremony.
Today at South Florida National Cemetery, the wreaths arrived around 1040 by police escort then about 100 volunteers unboxed and stacked wreaths and were done in just a few hours.
This is one of my annual privileges I get the honor of participating in and it is truly special as a remembrance of my son Adrian who is laid to rest there, a true hero in my eyes and heart.
They do take donations and if you would like to help you can visit:

The wreaths arrive with their escorts and volunteers.
The boxes are unloaded and opened
Then placed in piles of 10 and rows of 10 to be ready for Saturday
These are ready for those interred at the cemetery

May God Bless our Heros and their Families.. and remember them not only during this holiday season but all through the years.
